Some dairy product manufacturers participate in cause-related marketing campaigns for breast cancer. Yoplait, for example, encourages customers to buy their yogurt and then mail the lid back to the company to prompt a donation to the cause. Yoplait's products, however, are made from cows treated with the genetically engineered hormone rBGH (recombinant bovine growth hormone). Research suggests a number of health risks, including breast cancer, associated with the consumption of dairy products from cows treated with rBGH. Luckily, there are many companies that have pledged not to use dairy from rBGH-treated cows.
